NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette |

A couple of weeks ago I was strolling through Boots, I never seem to be able to leave empty handed especially when I head to their bigger stores, there’s so many goodies that I NEED. I found myself having a nosey over at the NYX counter and had my eye on this NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette Warm Neutrals (£16).

How can you deny a palette that’s packed with 16 warm neutral tones and at £1 per shadow, you guys know how much I love copper shades so it definitely wasn’t leaving my basket for anything.

The palette is packed with a mix of mattes, satins, shimmers and metallic shadows. All of the 16 shadows are have great pigmentation and blend beautifully, though I do tend to need to use a primer beforehand as their lasting power without isn’t that great and tends to crease on my eyelids.

Since having the palette I’ve found myself reaching for the bottom two sections of the palette rather first two which contain the lighter tones, I tend to find that the copper shades suit my blue eyes perfectly. The palette allows you to create both day and night looks with ease with a combination of lighter and darker shades making it a truly perfect palette.

I love that these 16 shadows are packed into a palette that is handbag friendly, perfect to stick in your handbag and have a quick top up ready for your night out.

What’s your go to palette?

LUSH Cosmetics | Mini Haul

It’s been quite a while since i’ve done a Lush haul, my closest store now is Cardiff which isn’t that far away from where I live but I don’t tend to head that way often so when I was in Cardiff last week I HAD to go in store.

I’ve been wanting to pick up Sleepy which is one of Lush’s recent new products for quite some time but I was holding out until I could try it first hand. There’s been a lot of attention on this especially from mums saying how it’s worked wonders with helping their kids sleep so I grabbed a sample of it in store and loved it so I went ahead and purchased the 95g pot (£7.95).

Sleepy has a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and sweet tonka absolute, it smells pretty incredible! I’m not quite sure whether it makes the little one sleep better as she’s always been a pretty good sleeper anyway and always has anything between 10-12 hours a night but it does make her skin incredibly soft and leaves her smelling amazing.

I also grabbed the Lord of Misrule shower cream 250g (£10.75) which I tend to try and grab every year, it’s just a must have in my bathroom and I also grabbed the Lord of Misrule bath bomb (£3.95). Lord of Misrule has a herbal blend of patchouli, peppercorn and black pepper with an intriguing vanilla absolute sweetness, again with most Lush things it smells pretty darn incredible with the scent lingering on your skin hours after.

Lastly I grabbed the Secret Arts jelly bomb (£4.95), i’m a huge fan of anything spooky and Harry Potter so this is perfect! Secret Arts has cinnamon leaf oil, Brazilian orange oil and sweet almond essential oil. I’ve not yet tried this one i’m saving it for one of those much needed pamper days but the sound of cinnamon leaf oil is perfect for these colder nights.

H&M Wish List

I am absolutely obsessed with H&M I want everything when I go in store and they’re always reasonably priced, these are definitely the times that I wish money grew on trees. Though I always find myself disappointed in their sizes especially when it comes to jeans, they only go up to a size 16 and I can’t even squeeze my thighs into them which doesn’t give you a boost of confidence but the t-shirts, jumpers etc are absolutely fine.

Long cardigan £14.99, Oversized jumper £14.99, Pom pom hat £7.99, Short lace dress £29.99, Pj leggings set £14.99, Glittery blanket £29.99, Small glass plant pot £7.99, Kids patterned duvet set £14.99Scented candle in glass jar £0.99, Eyeshadow palette £9.99 , Eyeshadow palette £9.99, Ankle boots £29.99,Wool-blend bouclé coat £39.99

This wish list is full of cosy wear and home bits ready for winter,  my absolute favourite of the bunch is the short lace dress which would be perfect for any upcoming Christmas and New Year parties.

Autumn & Winter Bold Lip Favourites

winterlipstick

With colder months fast approaching plum, purples and deep red lipsticks are many of people’s choices especially mine! I never used to wear such a dark lipstick as I didn’t think I would pull it off, but who cares! After my first Michael Kors lipstick in the shade Dame I am now obsessed, to me it doesn’t matter if it’s the same shade or different brand, I must own it. So what better than to share my most favourite autumn and winter lipsticks with my lovely readers.

Michael Kors Lip Laquer – Dame (£23.50)

This gorgeous subtle shimery plum lipstick is so creamy, moisturising and doesn’t stick to any dry patches on your lips which is perfect for the colder months. Dame is build-able so it’s great for those who don’t want such an intense dramatic lip and also for those who are not sure if it’s the right shade for them, I tend to build 2 layers to get the correct shade for me.

 see original post here.

Lush Santa Baby (£5.95)

Last year Lush had this in a pot form I am so excited that they have finally converted it to stick form this year! Hurrah. Santa Baby is a matte lipstick and not so moisturising, even though it does glide along your lips it does highlight any dry patches so I like to use this in conjunction with their Santa lip scrub. This lipstick has INCREDIBLE lasting power, it literally doesn’t budge at all and possibly one of the best i’ve used!

RMK Irresistable Glow Lips 12 – (£19.50)

I absolutely love this lipstick for a more subtle winter makeup look or even for work, its a beautiful subtle plum/pink colour, again another moisturising lipstick.. can you see a theme here?

Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub (£5.50)

If you suffer from dry lips like I do then this will be a life saver what’s even better, it smells of cola cubes too! It is a handbag favourite and never leaves.

Revlon Super Lustrous – Black Cherry (£7.99)

This Revlon lipstick is a stunning deep purple when applied directly, after a couple of hours it fades to a berry plum colour. I love how the pigment is intense and so creamy instantly giving your lips a huge moisture boost.

 see original post here.

Mac – Studded Kiss (£15.50)

A beautiful deep burgundy ox blood matte lipstick that has amazing lasting power and intense pigment, it is just incredible and smells like mini eggs!

Revlon Super Lustrous Black Cherry Lipstick

revlon

For the past couple of years I have been absolutely obsessed with lipstick, especially dark shades such as plum, purples, burgundy and red. I feel that lipstick really finishes off any makeup look, so when I stumbled upon Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipsticks on Instagram, particularly Black Cherry (£7.49) I knew I had to get my mitts on it, I mean I had to right?!

Unfortunately I couldn’t test the lipstick out in Boots as there was no tester for this shade, but that doesn’t matter I trusted that it would be as good as it looked on Revlon’s Instagram post. I went ahead and purchased it, well I say purchased it.. I used my Boots points which always come in handy, thank you Boots!

The packaging is elegant yet simple, a slick black and gold holder which would look super slick in anyone’s makeup bag. This Super Lustrous lipstick is so buttery that it glides across your lips with ease not attracting any dry patches which is instantly giving your lips a moisture boost, a hit in my eyes as I hate ones that pick up dry patches it doesn’t really look attractive.. curse my dry lips. A huge hats off to Revlon for their intense pigments in their Super Lustrous lipsticks, this Black Cherry is beyond gorgeous and definitely a makeup bag staple in my eyes set for any autumn and winter looks.

The Big Smoke Candle ‘Escape to Jaipur’

greatescape

A couple of weeks ago I won a competition over at Heather’s blog, Of Beauty and Nothingness for a Great Escape candle. I was literally over the moon when it was announced I have a huge obsession with candles, I think that they just instantly make any room look so much cosier. Great Escape are a company admittedly I have not heard of before which I wish I had known about sooner!

Great Escape currently have a collection ‘The Big Smoke Crackling Candle’ which includes 4 beautiful candles, Escape to Paris, Escape to Honolulu, Escape to Jaipur and Escape to Mississippi

I received the Escape to Jaipur candle (£22.00) which is a lovely spiced ginger candle, perfect for this time of year. When the candle arrived it came in a gorgeous presentation box, looking very gift like which makes it feel that more special and perfect for any gift buying opportunities especially as Christmas is fast approaching.

“Jaipur is a colourful Indian city with chaotic streets, dawdling camels and breathtaking sights. This luxury, hand poured candle is made using EcoSoya soy wax and scented with a stimulating fragrance of spiced ginger.”

What I absolutely love about this candle is that it features a wooden wick that when burning it resembles a crackling fire making your living room even more cosier during these colder months. The scent is a lovely spiced ginger which is a subtle scent but yet fills the whole room, it makes you want to just grab every blanket in the house, light the candle and cosy up with a film.

This candle isn’t like your ordinary candle, it is made from soy wax using soy beans which is a renewable resource, this is better for both you and the environment which is always a bonus when buying things. Can it get any better?! well, yes these beautiful autumnal candles burn for approximately 40 hours which is brilliant for candle lovers like myself.

What’s your favourite candle scent?

SUQQU A/W 2015 Collection

I was kindly invited back to SUQQU at Selfridges, Manchester Exchange Square to have a peek at their current Autumn and Winter collection. I absolutely LOVE autumn especially the different makeup looks that are created and the absolutely gorgeous eye palettes so when I was invited along to test out SUQQU’s new collection that was definitely a no brainer.

I was taken care of for the next couple of hours by Natalie who started off removing my makeup and performing SUQQU’s Gankin Massage, if your not familiar with this then you can see the process on my pervious post. Natalie spent 45 minutes performing the massage and I felt well and truly relaxed afterwards.

My skin was fully prepped for my makeup, I must say the new collection is absolutely stunning and I was lucky enough to be able to test it out.  Natalie applied frame fix cream foundation (002) which makes my skin look flawless it has to be one of my new favourites, balancing eyebrow (02) was then used to fill in and shape my brows. One of SUQQU’s new Autumn/Winter palette Kaoribara was used on my eyes creating a gorgeously blended smoky eye look finishing my eye area off with their new gel eyeliner pencil (02) and their mascara volume curl. Cheek and face colour (ex-02) added a gorgeous subtle glow to my cheeks finishing the makeup look off with their new creamy glow moist lipstick (12).

Manchester Haul | New Look, Lush, Makeup Revolution, Yankee Candles

Saturday I headed to Manchester to buy some new boots after unexpectedly receiving a 5 week wage and creating my New Look wish list and decided to grab some other bits and bats. I can not get enough of these stores lately especially Lush and Makeup Revolution so I had to fulfil the urge to buy more.

LUSH cosmetics | Northern Lights & Cupcake Face Mask

My last LUSH visit (post coming soon) I missed out on the Halloween and Christmas range by 1 day I was gutted, I saw that quite a few bloggers had the Northern Lights bath bomb (RRP £3.50) and I must say it looked absolutely stunning in the bath I had to have it. Unfortunately this time I did not raid the store but just grabbed this and a sample of Cupcake face mask, Soon as I got home I ran the bath and tested ‘Northern Lights’ out and I must say OMG it is absolutely amazing, it smells great, looks great and even leaves stars in your water! I was left feeling clean, refreshed and relaxed.

I love my face masks I currently have at the moment from my last LUSH haul ‘Mask of Magnaminty’ and ‘Dark Angels’  which are great for oily skin, again I have read quite a few blog reviews about the ‘Cupcake’ face mask and read good things so when I went into the store I kindly asked if I was able to grab a sample which I have yet to review so keep your eyes peeled.

“Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise.”

Yankee Candles | Cinnamon Stick, Fireside Treats & Amber Moon Votive Candles

I have always loved candles it reminds me of those cosy nights in with my mum, you have to admit it makes your house look that much cosier. When candles spring to mind I always think of Yankee Candles and their smell.. it is divine with so many scents. I was strolling through Manchester Arndale when I spotted that they had recently opened a Yankee Candle store which I had to raid! I literally smelt nearly every candle they had (my poor Fiance and little lady) but I decided to grab 4, I chose ‘Cinnamon Stick’ (RRP £1.35), ‘Fireside Treats’ (RRP £1.35) and ‘Amber Moon’ (RRP £1.80) and they smell great, but my favourite has to be ‘Cinnamon Stick’ so I grabbed two of those.

Makeup Revolution | Redemption Palette Hot Smoked, Adore 14 Nail Varnish & Top Coat and Base Coat 04

Last time I went to Manchester they were in the process of adding it into their Superdrug store which I was so excited about because I am really loving their products! (latest review of their lipsticks). I originally wanted to go to grab their new ‘Brow Dual Ultra Brow Arch & Shape‘ but unfortunately it was not stocked and I could not leave without a few of their products especially as it was 3 for 2. I decided to grab the ‘Redemption Palette Hot Smoked’ (RRP £4) I absolutely adored the colours it caters for those smokey eye and nude looks fantastically. When swatching the palette the colours are highly pigmented just one stroke with your makeup brush and it does the trick, no need to build up several times.

I also decided to grab ‘Adore 14’ (RRP £1) and ‘Top Coat and Base Coat 04’ (RRP £1) I am a sucker for nail polishes I love them, I feel naked without any on and as mentioned before I love purple so I saw that they had a pale pastel purple i grabbed it. Unfortunately it takes a few coats to create full coverage but can you really complain with it being £1. I also was running out of top coat so I decided to pick that up which I have found that if too much is applied once dried it goes quite bubbly.

I am continuously pleased with Makeup Revolutions products, they are a fantastic budget brand and also grabbed their ‘Brow Dual Ultra Brow Arch & Shape’ and their ‘Pressed Powder’ online (review coming soon).

New Look Wish List

Black Cross Strap Buckle Boots (RRP £19.99) – When I saw these boots I was in love, I’m not really a shoe buyer I usually stick to my vans as they are so comfy but my Asos boots were starting to feel tight and with my maternity leave coming to an end I needed some new boots for work especially as winter is coming I don’t want cold tutsies. I went ahead and bought these beauties yesterday when I went to Manchester (a haul post coming shortly).

White Long Sleeve Butterfly Print Pyjamas (RRP £19.99) – I absolutely love pjs I would literally just wear them all day and everyday if I could, you can never have enough I think. So when I saw these they are incredibly cute and what’s not to love about them.

Red Petal Print Skater Dress (RRP £14.99) – Another of my favourites is dresses, seriously I could just wear them whatever the weather. My particular favourite style has got to be skater dresses they just look great and of course it would be stunning  teamed up with those black boots and cable knit tights!

Samya Grey Knitted Button Neck Top (RRP £24) – I love winter as all my knitted clothing comes back out making you feel cosy and warm, there is nothing better than a oversized knitted jumper on at work. When I saw this again I was in love which I am usually fussy when I go shopping but it ticked all the boxes, it’s grey and knitted!

Brave Soul Black Aztec Lace Back Waterfall Cardigan (RRP £17.99) – Is it just me or do all these clothing appear that they would look fantastic when paired together? This would look great with both dresses.
