SUQQU A/W 2015 Face Sculptor Series

suqqu

I was kindly invited back to SUQQU to preview their new base makeup collection after recently seeing their A/W 2015 collection. SUQQU have recently additionally released their A/W 2015 ‘face sculptor’ series.

Their Colour Foundation (£24) which is a face sculpting colour stick is available in three different shades, 01 Natural Orange (blusher), 02 Natura Pink (blusher) and 03 Dark Beige (contour). SUQQU have been pretty clever with this release as these colour sticks are formulated with the same base pigments as their popular foundations.

SUQQU also released a Face Designing Concealer (Refill £10 each, Case with brush £11) which is a customisable palette, can it get any better?! these are filled with three different components, concealing, tone correcting and highlighting which you can create your own bespoke palette by selecting from 8 different shades/formulae. Highlighter shades are the following, H-01 Clear White, H-02 Pearl Beige, H-03 Pearl Pink, following with Equaliser/Tone Corrector in shades N-01 Natural Ochre, N-02 Dark Ochre and N-03 Orange Beige finally Concealer in shades C-01 Natural Ochre and C-02 Dark Ochre.

I was greeted by Jorge who was joining the Manchester team for the new base collection event, I always love visiting the SUQQU team they are ever so friendly and make you feel comfortable. Jorge asked me what products I had tried out before and what kind of look I wanted to create, which I always like to try a new look each time. He began by removing my makeup and prepping my face ready for the makeover, my face felt so refreshed afterwards. Jorge created a really nice subtle autumn smokey eye look using their gorgeous A/W palettes in the shades 21 YOIHAG combined with their Gel Eyeliner Pencil 01 and Volume Curl Mascara. Cheek and Face Colour EX-01 and Colour Foundation 02 were used to create a lovely soft peach colour on my cheeks finally finished with a gorgeous berry lipstick in shade 13 AKANEBARA – Clear Bordeaux.

MAC Studded Kiss Lipstick

mac1

I am a sucker for a red lip and especially as autumn is upon us, I absolutely love scrolling through Pintrest looking at autumn makeup looks, I think that it really compliments pale skin. I recently won a competition hosted by London Beauty Queen for a department store voucher so I chose Selfridges, I kind of had an idea of what I wanted to buy and a deep red lipstick was definitely on the list.

I swatched a few of Mac’s red lipsticks and Studded Kiss (£15.50) was a definite winner it is just perfect.  A gorgeous matte deep oxblood red fitting for autumn, even though this lipstick is matte it glides across you lips with ease and I have found that it doesn’t tend to highlight my dry patches which is great. The lasting power is great through eating and drinking, I find that it lasts a good few hours leaving behind a lovely lip stain when it’s faded before you need to top it up.

The pigmentation of this is incredible and I would definitely recommend it to others if you want a bold lip.

I have been absolutely loving this lipstick lately, it is definitely my go to lipstick paired with the Urban Decay Smokey palette. When I first wore it I noticed that Studded Kiss smells like mini eggs, this really doesn’t help my love for chocolate, I find myself wanting to go raid the shop every two minutes.

What’s your favourite Mac lipstick?

SUQQU A/W 2015 Collection

I was kindly invited back to SUQQU at Selfridges, Manchester Exchange Square to have a peek at their current Autumn and Winter collection. I absolutely LOVE autumn especially the different makeup looks that are created and the absolutely gorgeous eye palettes so when I was invited along to test out SUQQU’s new collection that was definitely a no brainer.

I was taken care of for the next couple of hours by Natalie who started off removing my makeup and performing SUQQU’s Gankin Massage, if your not familiar with this then you can see the process on my pervious post. Natalie spent 45 minutes performing the massage and I felt well and truly relaxed afterwards.

My skin was fully prepped for my makeup, I must say the new collection is absolutely stunning and I was lucky enough to be able to test it out.  Natalie applied frame fix cream foundation (002) which makes my skin look flawless it has to be one of my new favourites, balancing eyebrow (02) was then used to fill in and shape my brows. One of SUQQU’s new Autumn/Winter palette Kaoribara was used on my eyes creating a gorgeously blended smoky eye look finishing my eye area off with their new gel eyeliner pencil (02) and their mascara volume curl. Cheek and face colour (ex-02) added a gorgeous subtle glow to my cheeks finishing the makeup look off with their new creamy glow moist lipstick (12).

I  absolutely love my makeup look it definitely brings out my blue eyes, and have since decided that I want to use this palette for my wedding makeup. I felt really welcome and didn’t even feel shy at any points, my confidence has definitely grown since I started blogging.

SUQQU Gankin Massage

I was kindly invited along to SUQQU at Selfridges, Manchester earlier this week. SUQQU are a brand that I haven’t really heard of before so I was really interested to find out more, the name SUQQU was derived from the Japanese word sukku-to meaning “posture with attitude” which I really like.

I was greeted by Natalie who took care of me for the next couple of hours, she made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Natalie began with removing my makeup and then started on their famous Gankin massage using their Musculate Massage and Mask Cream.

suqqu4

“SUQQU’s GANKIN MASSAGE was created by exploring the relationship between stiff facial muscles and sagging skin. Stiffness indicates that the lymph flow is not working efficiently and therefore prevents waste from being drained smoothly causing the skin to swell or sag.”

Their Musculate Massage and Mask Cream is a really rich and thick cream unlike your usual masks and moisturisers which enables you to apply sufficient pressure to promote blood circulation and strengthen muscles in turn creating hydrated, supple and bouncy skin.

Above is a guide as to how you can perform a Gankin massage on yourself, the massage that Natalie performed was slightly different. To be perfectly honest it did feel slightly weird at first as I have never had a massage on my face and it was quite firm but I felt incredibly relaxed afterwards. Straight away I could notice that my eyes were more tightened and defined.

Once my skincare and massage was done and I was left feeling well and truly pampered, Natalie let me try out some of the new summer range that had recently been released.  When someone else does my makeup I always try and go for a look I wouldn’t usually do myself, I find it interesting to see what others can create which gives me new ideas.

Natalie was really interactive, explaining each of the products to me, their key ingredients and what they are great for, which really helped me gain more knowledge about the products and what she was using on my face. First up was my base makeup which I have well and truly fallen in love with. Their Frame Fix Fluid foundation provided me with high coverage covering over my dark circles and spots and barely budged an inch throughout the day so there was no need for any touch ups.

I chose a gorgeous subtle purple smokey eye look which looked absolutely amazing using their new Eye Palette ex-01. I seriously love how pigmented the shades are and hurrah they don’t crease on my lids which I always find a problem with some brands. Finally Natalie finished my eye area off with SUQUU’s Liquid Eyebrow Pen 02.

Lastly I decided to finish the whole look off with a subtle lip colour using their new Creamy Glow Lipstick Moist Ex-17 which is a colour that I wouldn’t usually choose but looks great on. I love how creamy these lipsticks are which is great for me as it doesn’t highlight the dry patches on my lips.

After my skin was prepped it was ready for the makeup, I was then greeted by Lucy who mainly used their new range ‘Power of Love’ on my face. Lucy ran through the selection of bases, foundations, eyeshadows etc asking me which I wanted to use which was great as it allowed me to interact with them as to define the outlook of my makeup. M·A·C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation

M·A·C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation 30ml (RRP £21.50)

 10660909_10152250324485974_1102886113_n

I’ve always had problems matching a foundation to my skin which either dried my skin out, looked greasy or just didn’t match my skin tone. I had a few recommendations to try M.A.C. foundation so I decided to go to Selfridges M.A.C. store to get a colour match which they matched it perfectly.

My skin tone was NW13 and decided to go for the Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 as I really liked the outcome of this when the colour match was done. I thought that I would review this product further for anyone who has not tried M.A.C. before or would just like a good foundation.

 After

After using this product for a number of weeks I have been extremely satisfied, I have found that it gives a fantastic coverage giving a smooth look to the skin. Unfortunately I have quite blotchy skin in some areas and get spots so I have found this foundation also fantastic for covering all those pesky areas, even without concealer which is brilliant!

I have always found that after using this product my skin looks fresh and vibrant giving it a lovely matt finish. An added bonus this foundation ticked all the boxes that most did not fulfil.
