Autumn & Winter Bold Lip Favourites

winterlipstick

With colder months fast approaching plum, purples and deep red lipsticks are many of people’s choices especially mine! I never used to wear such a dark lipstick as I didn’t think I would pull it off, but who cares! After my first Michael Kors lipstick in the shade Dame I am now obsessed, to me it doesn’t matter if it’s the same shade or different brand, I must own it. So what better than to share my most favourite autumn and winter lipsticks with my lovely readers.

Michael Kors Lip Laquer – Dame (£23.50)

This gorgeous subtle shimery plum lipstick is so creamy, moisturising and doesn’t stick to any dry patches on your lips which is perfect for the colder months. Dame is build-able so it’s great for those who don’t want such an intense dramatic lip and also for those who are not sure if it’s the right shade for them, I tend to build 2 layers to get the correct shade for me.

 see original post here.

Lush Santa Baby (£5.95)

Last year Lush had this in a pot form I am so excited that they have finally converted it to stick form this year! Hurrah. Santa Baby is a matte lipstick and not so moisturising, even though it does glide along your lips it does highlight any dry patches so I like to use this in conjunction with their Santa lip scrub. This lipstick has INCREDIBLE lasting power, it literally doesn’t budge at all and possibly one of the best i’ve used!

RMK Irresistable Glow Lips 12 – (£19.50)

I absolutely love this lipstick for a more subtle winter makeup look or even for work, its a beautiful subtle plum/pink colour, again another moisturising lipstick.. can you see a theme here?

Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub (£5.50)

If you suffer from dry lips like I do then this will be a life saver what’s even better, it smells of cola cubes too! It is a handbag favourite and never leaves.

Revlon Super Lustrous – Black Cherry (£7.99)

This Revlon lipstick is a stunning deep purple when applied directly, after a couple of hours it fades to a berry plum colour. I love how the pigment is intense and so creamy instantly giving your lips a huge moisture boost.

 see original post here.

Mac – Studded Kiss (£15.50)

A beautiful deep burgundy ox blood matte lipstick that has amazing lasting power and intense pigment, it is just incredible and smells like mini eggs!

Lush Toothy Tabs!

toothy

Apologies for the lack of posts lately ladies & gents, I have been working block shifts so i’ve not really had time to do any blogging. I am hoping in a couple of weeks I shall get back into my blogging routine. Anyway, onto today’s post..

For the past month or so I have been trialing different Lush toothy tabs that they currently offer in their stores featuring Dirty, Sparkle, Atomic (£2.50) and many more.  If you don’t know what toothy tabs are then they are basically an natural alternative for toothpaste, you take one of the tabs and crush it inbetween your teeth to which they instantly froff up ready for you to brush your teeth.

I didn’t really toothy tabs such as Dirty and Sparkle in my opinion I couldn’t really taste anything but bicarbonate soda which for me was really off putting when brushing my teeth. I did however manage to settle with Atomic, being a huge cinnamon fan these were definitely the ones for me and no taste of bicarbonate soda in sight!

If your a follower of my blog then you will have probably seen my post on Lush Oxford Street, I saw that they had a whole new range of toothy tabs which included Miles of Smiles, Lime Light, Bling and Oral Pleasure. I went straight ahead and smelt Lime Light instantly falling in love with the citrusy scent, I HAD to buy these. When I finally got home after about 5 bloody hours of travelling I cracked the bottle open and tested these beauties out, my mouth was in heaven! They tasted so good, good enough to eat even, so brushing my teeth is now a joy and they’re cruelty free so what more could you want.

Finally just a quick note on packaging, I cannot thank whoever decided to swap to plastic containers enough, they are a godsend! I was constantly getting sick of my tabs going soft and damp due to the moisture in my bathroom and the previous cardboard packaging.

Lush Ickle Baby Bot & Silky Underwear

scarlettlush

Another Lush post, sorry guys but I am literally obsessed with Lush lately. I am either going in myself or sending my partner into work to pick up bits for me! I wanted a couple of bits for my little girl to make bath time a little more fun and exciting so I decided to get her some little bath bombs.

I actually picked Silky Underwear Dusting powder (£4.50) up by accident as I was looking for the No Drought dry shampoo and picked the wrong thing up! silly me. I realised my mistake once I got home and was looking through my goodies, though it was not a problem as I could use it for both me and Scarlett. I used this one on my little lady after bath time and have instantly fallen in love with it, her skin is so soft and smells amazing. This dusting powder contains cocoa butter and corn starch which softens your skin, also containing jasmine and vertivert fragrance making you smell absolutely amazing. I have found that after using the dusting powder on her skin it doesn’t dry it out unlike talc.

I also decided to grab a couple of the Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb (£1.95), this super cute robot bath bomb is packed with lavender oil to help those little ones off to a better nights sleep. Scarlett loves this bath bomb as it turns the water into a silky blue bath making her skin feel amazingly soft afterwards. I would definitely recommend this product to other parents as I believe it does help my little girl have a better nights sleep.

The incredible jar of Lush soap!

lushsoapjar

“Ive got a jar of soap, I’ve got a jar of soap, and guess what’s inside it”

I have been thinking of doing a bowl of soap for quite a while after watching Vampire Diaries (i’m slightly obsessed with it). Those who have watched the show will know that Damon has a big vase of different soaps where he hides the moonstone and after watching that episode I had to make my own, so who better than Lush to provide the sudsy goodness as I am obsessed with their products.

I scrolled through the Lush website to seek out what soaps I wanted and sent my partner into work for them all! And wow does the jar smell AMAZING!

A couple of the soaps I already had to hand, such as Yog Nog which is packed with cinnamon and was one of the exclusive soaps at christmas (I could seriously eat it!). I also had some Baked Alaska (another christmas exclusive) which looks so vibrant with its blocks of colour and the citrus scent is so uplifting I can not wait until next christmas to stock up again! Another one of my favourite soaps in this jar is the Cupid’s Love Soap (£4.25) which you can see in my previous post. I needed another block of this as it only available for a limited time and smells absolutely amazing with the passion fruit and bergamot oil, its definitely one of my favourites from the valentines range.

As for new purchases for the jar I decided to grab the Dirty Soap (£4.10). My partner is obsessed with the Dirty Body Spray (£15) and it seriously smells amazing so trying the soap too was a no brainer. The soap is refreshing leaving you feeling uplifted and ready for the day due to menthol and sandalwood.

Ice Blue (£3.10) is such a great soap for the bathroom, it really reminds me of toothpaste as it has peppermint oil in it which means you are left with a lovely tingling sensation on your skin. This soap contains fine sea salt which softens your skin as well as sweet wild orange oil and bergamot oil to “put a zing in your step”.

Next up is Miranda (£3.40) which after reading the description I was in love with and the design of this soap is simple yet gorgeous. The soap is packed with kiwi and refreshing citrus oils (can you see an obsessive citrus theme developing!). This soap is also great as it is full of natural fruit enzymes that helps to break down dead skin cells in turn getting rid of that dull skin and leaving a brighter more vibrant glow. Sea Vegetable (£3.10) was another one for the jar, I have had this soap a few times before and absolutely loved it as reminds me of the sunny seaside. It is a mineral-rich seaweed soap leaving your skin feeling incredibly soft, not only that it smells AMAZING too.

Magnificent (£4.00) is one that I very much love as its a pure block of heaven packed full of mango, lemon oil, mandarin oil and neroli, leaving you feeling squeaky clean. I can surely say that this soap is magnificent (I hope you find that as amusing as I did). Oh my wow Sandstone (£3.40) is outstanding! I loved the sound of the description as it mentions that it “brings to mind the beaches of Brazil.” doesn’t that just sound heavenly? Its so nice to have a soap that exfoliates as well as it cleans which is the thanks to the sand that is packed throughout.

Last but not least is The Godmother (£3.10)! I saw this soap quite a while ago but never thought to pick it up, I love the stunning pink colour and that the soap shares it’s scent with Snow Fairy, so if you love that then you are definitely going to love this. Unfortunately Snow Fairy is only available for the christmas period so you can use this to feed your addiction.

Phew, we made it! Have you tried any of these soaps before? What is your favourite one to make you squeaky clean?

LUSH At Christmas

Have I mentioned that I love LUSH!? I am literally obsessed with their products and currently trying to convert all my everyday products with using LUSH’s. As mentioned in my previous LUSH post (here) that my partner has recently been employed by LUSH so he is given staff samples to try out for himself, he was kindly given a range of items to choose from their new christmas range (I would be in heaven). So when he brought a huge goody bag home I could not contain my excitement! I was so excited to test some of the items out as this years christmas range is amazing.

Santa Baby Lip Tint 8g (RRP £5.95)

“A Christmassy red lip tint made with cherries and dates for sweet, kissable lips. Made with Fair Trade shea butter and nourishing carrot oil to soften and moisturise, and a cinammon-sweet, cola-flavoured taste of Christmas, Santa will be hurrying down the chimney tonight. “

I absolutely adore this lip tint, the colour is simply stunning and the smell of it is just divine – definitely good enough to eat. When using the lip tint I used my finger first off to apply it but then noticed it had stained my finger for a little while so I decided to use a lip brush instead. The other downside to this product is i’ve found that it brings out the dry skin on my lips so I use Santa Baby Lip Scrub before hand. Despite the two downsides of this product I still absolutely love it.

The Melting Snowman Bath Melt (RRP £2.25)

“Warm up on cold days with this comforting Christmas spice-scented bath melt that helps you shake off festive fatigue. Made with enriching almond oil and cocoa butter, this is the only snowman you’ll enjoy watching melt away, leaving behind nothing but soft skin. Drop into your bath water and enjoy the warming essential oil blend that’s like bathing in a hot toddy.”

Seriously I love the smell of just about every LUSH product! This product is no exception from that, especially as it’s cinnamon, it just smells amazing. I’ve never actually tried one of the bath melts as I usually go for bath bombs so when I tried this out it was definitely different. When it had melted it turned the bath a milky colour which I was a little skeptical of but wow it made my skin feel great due to the almond oil and cocoa butter.

Wizard Hat Bubble Bar (RRP £3.25)

“As the weather casts a cold, frosty spell over us, there’s only one thing better than soaking in the bath: the Wizard. This magical, handmade companion will help keep your spirits bright even on the darkest days. Energizing tangerine, juniperberry and fennel essential oils help balance the skin, while its warming and uplifting scent banishes stress and helps you recover from the day. It’s pure magic for your mind, body and soul.”

Again bubble bars are another LUSH product that I have not used before until recently but they are amazing. I’ve found that breaking the bar up into bits is more effective as it lasts a lot longer, even one of those little pieces creates so many bubbles when you crumble it under running water. This bar turns the bath into a stunning light purple with little bits of non synthetic glitter floating around, which thankfully does not stick to you.

Fun Gold 200g (RRP £5)

“Have some fun with this limited edition golden version of our multi-purpose playful wash, here especially for Christmas. Glimmering gold Fun can be a soap, shampoo, a bubble bath or moulded into shimmering shapes. With a toffee-sweet, comforting and cheerful fragrance it shares with Honey I Washed the Kids, bath time will never be boring again. “

I love how this product is multi use – i’ve recently been using it for my daughter as a bubble bath and body wash which she loves. The only thing I would say about this product is that sometimes it smells a little sickly as it has a toffee-sweet scent but I love how you can mould it into different shapes which would definitely be great for those with older children.

Celebrate Body Lotion 225g (RRP £12.95)

“Give your skin cause for celebration by smoothing on this intoxicatingly citrusy body lotion with a splash of cognac. Lime oil and Brazilian orange oil lift the spirits, while cocoa butter and almond oil hydrate the skin – it’s the perfect lotion to wear for a festive night out. An alcohol-free version is also available (online only).”

I love the scent of this body lotion it kind of reminds me of those lime sweets! With this product I have found that a little bit goes a long way and only a little amount is needed otherwise it tends to make my face look and feel greasy. I tend to use a thick layer of this at night to give my face a deep moisturising and it works wonders in making my skin feel soft and hydrated.

Bûche de Noël 100g (RRP £6.50)

“The mighty Bûche de Noël is food for your face and body, with festive ingredients including satsumas, cranberries and a drop of brandy. The fresh cleanser helps to bring back radiance to wintry skin: sweet almonds, kaolin and fruits gently buff and clean. Cocoa butter softens the skin and balance is restored by its fragrant essential oils.”

This face and body cleanser is basically a festive version of Angels On Bare Skin, so if you like that then you will love this. I’ve used Angels On Bare Skin before and it is definitely one of my favourite cleansers along with Mask Of Magnaminty and Dark Angels so this festive cleanser was definitely a treat. Satsumas, cranberries and brandy definitely smells like christmas, almost good enough to eat! Bûche de Noël does a great job in keeping my skin soft, though the only downside i’d say is that it is quite crumbly so when applying it to my face half of it disappears.

Rose Jam 100g (RRP £4.75)

“Let your skin be kissed by a rose with this sweetly floral shower gel. Wrap yourself in a comforting embrace with nourishing argan oil, organic rose absolute and rose oil together with a Fair Trade vanilla pod infusion. This is an indulgent wash that lifts the spirits.”

I’m a little on the side with this product I can’t quite get used to the smell of it, it kind of reminds me of turkish delight (I know another chocolate/sweet reference) which i’m not too keen on. I don’t think I could use this as an everyday shower gel due to the scent as some days I like it and some days I don’t.

The Hedgehog Bubble Bar (RRP £3.25)

“If you’re feeling prickly this festive season, indulge in a soak with this softening bubble bar made with organic shea and cocoa butters as well as soothing essential oils. Crumble under running water and unfurl in the silky waters as the rose absolute and ylang ylang essential oil get to work on frosty moods.”

I love this super cute hedgehog bubble bar it’s adorable! the one thing that I will say though is that I really don’t like the scent of this but each to their own. I tend to crumble my bubble bars before use as I’ve found that a little piece creates so many bubbles making room for multiple uses (YAY).

Luxury Lush Pud (RRP £3.50)

“Unwind (or calm down excited children) with this soothing bath bomb. Perfect before bedtime, drop this in the bath and watch it create pastel-coloured islands in the pink water as it fizzes and froths. Sharing its fragrance with Twilight bath bomb, the comforting tonka absolute, ylang ylang, and relaxing lavender oils will help banish tension. “

As you may be able to tell I love baths especially after working a 10 hour shift and running around after my little lady so this bath bomb was perfect to help unwind and relax. As mentioned the scent of this bath bomb is shared with LUSH’s Twighlight bomb which I must say smells divine! I love this Luxury Lush Pud it looks and smells great making your water look psychedelic.

Santa Baby Lip Scrub 25g (RRP £5.50)

“Prime your pout with this moisturising cola-flavoured lip scrub that leaves your lips buffed and ready for Santa Baby – or any other Lush lip tint or balm. Caster sugar, dates and cherries scrub and soften, giving them a taste of Christmas. Dab a little on and buff, licking off the excess.”

I needed a new lip scrub after using ÊTRE Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel as my lips are prone to becoming dry and chapped. I wanted to try out the popcorn version but after smelling this cola-flavoured scrub I had to have it – it’s good enough to eat but dead skin ew. This sugar scrub has little cute hearts jam packed throughout this glass container which is a lovely touch to he product in my opinion.

Baked Alaska 100g (RRP £3.25)

“Based on a giant snowball, this zesty soap reveals it true colours when sliced. A fresh and uplifting marriage of organic lemon myrtle, grapefruit and stress-relieving ylang ylang oil make for a sweet and refreshing blast from head to toe.”

First off WOW, this is certainly my kind of soap. It is packed full of citrus goodness and the scent stays on your skin which is great! We both love it that much that we picked up another two bars to stockpile before is disappears for another year after xmas. Another great thing about LUSH soaps is that they are cut to size and before cutting this one is a giant snowball which looks amazing.
